TEN DAYS!

Hi! I can't believe I'm going to Athens in 10 days! So crazy! I got an e-mail from the CYA president today saying how he is excited to welcome us all to Athens. This is getting real. I'm so excited, nervous, anxious, and more. There are just so many emotions right now. I'm dreading packing (my least favorite activity ever). I was so lucky to find a duffel bag and backpack to take with me! So that process is going to start tomorrow (hopefully).

Something I'm still nervous about is receiving my visa! Yes, I still don't have it. The Consulate was supposed to mail it this week, so I'm hoping and praying it comes very very soon!

Also, my family is throwing me a Bon Voyage party on Saturday (they're so cute!). I'm so so excited to see a bunch of my family and friends before I leave. It should be a LOT  of fun.

Alright, well it's getting late, so I will update you on my packing situation. But that's all the updates I have for now.

Applying for my Student Visa!!!

So it turned out I had to go to NYC to apply for my student visa in person at the Consulate. Here are some photos:

The day went pretty smoothly, and my mom and I had a great time. We got into the city early around 7:30am, navigated the subway from JFK and made it to the Consulate at 9am on the dot. We were the first in the door and the first on the list for the visa application. After much anxious waiting, I was done with the process by 9:45, and we were set free in NYC for the day. Since the Consulate was so close to central park, we decided to start off at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Then we made our way through Central Park all the way to 5th Avenue. We walked around FAO Schwartz and some other stores along they way to St. Patrick's Cathedral. By that point, we were starving, and decided to go get lunch by Bryant Park. Afterwards, we walked down 42nd St until we finally reached Times Square! Mom hadn't been in years and years, so it was pretty exciting for her! We enjoyed the rest of our day there people watching, shopping, etc and then took the subway to LaGuardia for our flight home. It was a fantastic day in the city, but we were ready to go home :)
